Acelity and Joerns RecoverCare Combine Strengths

April 20 2015

SAN ANTONIO and CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 20, 2015 – Acelity L.P. Inc. and Joerns RecoverCare announced today they have entered into a long-term partnership to bring together Acelity’s gold standard negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) products with Joerns RecoverCare’s excellent reputation for service and product support in the skilled nursing facility (SNF) market in order to provide the best value for customers.

Joerns RecoverCare will distribute industry-leading V.A.C.® Therapy Systems, part of the KCI suite of NPWT products, to selected SNF and long-term acute care hospital customers nationwide. In addition, Joerns RecoverCare will be the service provider for Acelity’s SNF customers in the U.S., providing them with Joerns’ exceptional level of service and support. During the next several weeks, Acelity and Joerns RecoverCare will be working closely with customers to demonstrate the enhanced value of our partnership, and to make necessary transition arrangements.

“We are excited about this opportunity to unite the strengths of two strong brands—and their value propositions—to benefit our customers,” said Mark Hostak, Chief Commercial Officer of Joerns RecoverCare. “The addition of KCI NPWT products will further strengthen our advanced wound care strategy, which offers a wide range of clinically proven, economically beneficial healing and prevention therapies.”

“This partnership will allow for skilled nursing facilities and their patients to have greater access to V.A.C.® Therapy,” said Rohit Kashyap, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Acelity’s Advanced Wound Therapeutics Business in the U.S. and Canada. “This means that more facilities across the U.S. can address chronic and acute wounds earlier, leading to a better patient care experience and outcomes, while improving the overall total cost of care.”

Since its introduction by Kinetic Concepts, Inc. in 1995, V.A.C.® Therapy has been selected as the treatment of choice for more than nine million wounds worldwide. For more information about V.A.C.® Therapy Units and Systems, please visit www.kci1.com/KCI1/vactherapy.
